Hi Freelancer. I'd like to commission 5 animations for my video game. The game is like chess with mermaids, werewolves, and dragons. Down the line I intend to animate the other characters. In this project the goal is to iron down the style.

The way the game works is you pick a character, you move it, and then you get to use its action. For dragon this action is breathing fire, for Mermaid it’s singing, for werewolf it’s biting, etc. In this project I’d like to commission these ability animations. For each one, draw the ability taking place on the game board. There is no need to animate the character itself. Focus on the animation of the ability. Using abilities is the most exciting part of the game so feel free to go over the top. For references I recommend Hearthstone Legendary card animations and Pokemon Gold and Silver attack animations such as for Hydro Pump, Thunder, and Fire Blast.

I’ve included descriptions for ten characters below. In addition here is a link to the game. Let me know if you need more info.

Character Descriptions

Elf- Has the power to shoot arrows. animate the arrow falling on the target
Phoenix-Burst into flames. Animate the explosion
Ent- Ent’s are tree creatures that move and talk. It has a branch smack ability. For this project animate the branch smack
T-Rex- Dinosaur. It bites very hard. Animate the bite
Unicorn- Healing Aura. Characters around unicorn restore HP every turn. Animate the healing grace aura
Headless Horseman- Instantly defeats any character it walks over. For the animation animate a sort of dark arrow around the horses legs
Mermaid-Sings. Draw the singing animation
Witch-Has the power to transform characters into chickens. For the animation animate the puff of smoke before the animation
Prince Charming- Seduces characters to join his side. For the animation animate his proposal.
Beautiful Princess- Motivates characters to work harder. Animate her as blowing a kiss to nearby characters.

  The squares are 256x256 sprites. For now just animate what they do. In the future we'll animate the characters movemnet that syncs with the actual event.
  
  For prince charming showing the proposal is enough. I'm thinking of the flower being given to and absorbed by the target character
