WHAT:
We require a corporate identity for a new firearms training company and are looking for a clean logo suitable to become the icon of the company. The name of the company is Oliva Defense and the logo should include the icon and the name of the business. The icon could either include a reference to the name and/or nature of the business (i.e.- possibly include a general reference to a firearm or a component thereof). The logo and icon should be suitable for usage throughout all corporate branding including print material, shirts, hats, etc.

WHO WE ARE:
We are a new firearms training company specializing in providing safety and marksmanship classes to ordinary citizens who are interested in obtaining the skills necessary to responsibly own, handle and use firearms for their personal protection and enjoyment. It is our goal to promote responsible firearms ownership through quality instruction and to convey an image of professionalism in our company materials. In order to convey the nature of the business, we feel that the tagline "Firearms Training" should be incorporated in certain components of the corporate identity such as under the logo/icon on the business card, letterhead, Facebook cover, Powerpoint Template and HTML email footer template. Your input is appreciated.

OUR AUDIENCE:
Ordinary, law-abiding citizens are our target demographic and not all of these people will have prior experience with firearms. These people will be seeking familiarization with something completely new to them. Other prospective clients however will be coming to us with some firearm skills and experience with interest in advancing their skill set. The corporate branding should be inviting and visually appealing to both groups of people.

EXAMPLES & INSPIRATION FOR BRANDING:
We encourage you to use your creativity but want to give you an idea of what appeals to us. You can find inspiration for this project with companies such as Knight's Armament (www.knightarmco.com)- we like the overall feel of this brand including the stylized name as well as the shield, sword and helmet icon. Magpul (www.magpul.com) appeals to us for multiple reasons including their icon and the font of their company name and the overall feel of their content and company "attitude". First Spear (www.first-spear.com) catches our eye because of their logo icon and the font style and placement of the company name over the icon. Haley Strategic's (www.haleystrategic.com) logo and icon is another one that is striking to us, and we like the idea of an icon accompanied by the company name in a distinctive text. Costa Ludus (www.costaludus.com) is an example of a modern font style that we find attractive and their logo is eye-catching. The icon and logo for Wilson Combat (www.wilsoncombat.com) is a good example of an icon utilizing the first letters of the company name which is an interesting design possibility to us. Battle Arms Development (www.battlearmsdevelopment.com) is an example of a logo where the outline recreates the rifling inside the barrel of a gun which was mentioned in the "WHAT" section above as an idea to incorporate a component of a gun into the icon design- not specifically looking for that, just a design example.

WHAT WE REQUIRE TO AWARD THE PRIZE:
To award the prize the participant should send color logos, black and white logos for horizontal and vertical uses, and whatever the participant thinks will help us in making a decision. Please, no "canned" logos- original work only.

WINNER MUST DELIVER:
Color, B&W and gray logos in HD including reversed and horizontal and vertical uses both complete with icon and name together and also separately in file types JPG, PSD, EPS, GIF, TIFF, PDF
All above also with and without "Firearms Training" tagline
Business card design
Letterhead
HTML Email Footer
PowerPoint template
Font files used

All deliverables should have a consistent look and feel that drive brand identity.

I would like to remind all participants to please look at the websites I mentioned in the project description for inspiration for this project, as the logos and icons of these companies all appeal to me for the reasons I indicated. Please also remember that I do not want any rifles, shotguns or other long guns in the icon as the training is primarily with handguns. I still believe that the icon should contain a reference to a gun part (trigger, bullet, barrel, rifling, sights, target) rather than a complete gun. I appreciate everyone's participation and look forward to seeing more entries.
