The task is to design a logo for the economists alumni association in Freiburg (Freiburger Wirtschaftswissenschaftler, https://www.fww-ev.de). The reward will go to the design that appeals to us most. We will be using the logo on our website so we will need every right to it.

The logo itself can be creative, traditional or both. We are not limiting you in any way and are very open and eager to see your creative input.

In terms of inspiration the logo can resemble the city of Freiburg (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freiburg_im_Breisgau), the university of Freiburg (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert-Ludwigs-Universität_Freiburg), something related to economics or a combination of it all. It can also stand by itself if it's original enough without having to resemble anything in particular.

The Colors of the university are red and blue (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datei:Albert-Ludwigs-Universit%C3%A4t_Freiburg_2009_logo.svg). If you use Colors or don't is also up to your own creativity. For further inspiration you could also work something into your design resembling: network, alumni, economists, Freiburger Münster (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freiburger_Münster), university of Freiburg (here take a look at the tower of the university which is also attached to this post; maybe work it in?).

We have also attached the currently used logo of the economists alumni association in Freiburg (Freiburger Wirtschaftswissenschaftler) for you to see.

After a few discussions based on the first entries we decided to focus logo wise on the tower of the University of Freiburg. Check the attached files for our suggestions. Here our thoughts were that the tower could stand for the university, the dots for the alumni and student network with the writing "Freiburger Wirtschaftswissenschaftler" (or FWW) connecting them all. If theres a need for words for the design it can also contain something along the lines of e.V., Verein, Freiburg, University and so on.

EDIT 2:

Try making the design so you can see it resembling something like network, university, university tower, FWW (contained in the logo, this is important), economists, graduates. Thats the direction the design needs to get at! Get creative with this! Check out what we like or go for something totally different that might secure your advantage! Also check the attached files and the links as seen above for extra inspiration!

We decided to upgrade the contest to spice things up and make up for extra time and creativity!

We also added a few extra pictures of the university that we snapped to give you a better idea what the area is like.

We've seen a few good entries over the last week! We have had a couple of new ideas of our own. Based on the first entries we decided to focus logo wise on the tower of the University of Freiburg. Check the attached files for our suggestions. Here our thoughts were that the tower could stand for the university, the dots for the alumni and student network with the writing "Freiburger Wirtschaftswissenschaftler" (or FWW) connecting them all. If theres a need for words for the design it can also contain something along the lines of e.V., Verein, Freiburg, University and so on. The assosiation is called "Freiburger Wirtschaftswissenschafter" so if the logo contains the name use that or FWW. We've updated the prize money and are eager to see your updates.
