we have a trivia game - actually its a location based trivia app that brings up questions about stuff you pass nearby while you drive.

when user starts the app he clicks lets go, and then the game is started. when he passes near interesting places the app will pop trivia questions about them and when the user answers it will also show a fun fact / short story about it

The task is - design a UI component that will show the user his score from the beginning of the ride.
we want to add to the standby - question - story screens a component that will show the current score/status of the user with the answered correctly out of total.

the component can show an explicit correct/total score , but it can also show it in an implicit way (like a scale or level of progress shown by bar/colors or any other way) instead or in addition to the correct/total

it can be a part of the screen, or it can be sort of "floating" extra component

attached are few examples of how we tried to implement it, and i felt its not there and it could be nicer.
also attaching the basic design of the question / story / standby screens
