Website coding with Ruby on Rails

General description: ################### This application is intended to show data points on a map (e.g. with GoogleMaps API). Furthermore, it should be possible to search for these data points by current location (or one entered by the user) within a specific radius (e.g. 10 kilometers, metric system required). Data: ##### An Excel file is provided with the data structure. Systemreq: ######### Application should be built with ruby on rails in order to provide a website that is responsive and thus run on the most common mobile webkits / smartphones. Further, development (not within this project scope) of this project / website into a hybrid app (mobile app wrapping the URL call) should be kept in mind, whilst developing this website. Use Cases #1 (View): ################### A user visits the website and wants to find the data points via visual identification for a specific raduis. Behind the radius selector the number of data points, that are within this range, should be shown. -> data points are to be shown on a map (e.g. GoogleMaps). Use Case #2 (View): ################## A user would like to see a list of data points which can be filtered by location, providing a radius. Behind the radius selector the number of data points, that are within this range, should be shown. -> data points are to be shown in a list with a hyperlink that opens the selected map view showing the specific data points on a map as well as those in close proximity (selected radius).
