Hello bright minds of the world! The project in questions is related to a challenge we are facing in our company a WiFi Marketing business. It's basically an issue that involves most Android Mobile phones and it presents itself when we wish to redirect a WiFi user from our captive portal to our interstitial portion which shows ads, ads that pay for the business to continue. In almost all Android phones, once you are authenticated by your WiFi provider, your phone will query the following hostnames looking for a code named "generate 204" which in turn enables Internet connectivity and closes the captive portal: [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] We do not want for the captive portal do be closed, we need it to remain open until our ads our finished being displayed. We have tried changing DNS entries, which helped showing the ads but also showed the WiFi icon with a exclamation mark saying there was no Internet, even though there was. We are looking for ideas and solutions ASAP. If you think you know how to resolve this matter, let me know. Thanks for your time.

First, pls check my feedbacks. You will note lot of hotspot projects. Second, I have a solution for this common problem. I read, you already tried the public trick, mine is more advanced. BTW, your list is not complete. However, implementation depends upon your infrastructure. Do you have openwrt-based hotspots, or mikrotiks, or what ? Bid is proxy, until requirement specs final. It is interesting for me to see, that practically all competitors don't have a clue, where the problem is. As it has nothing to do with mysql, or PHP, or mobile app. It is a nasty Android feature, to be handled in coop with the CP.
