I have a data analysis task. Background: In this project you will be using Microsoft Access to work with bringing data into a database to acquire knowledge about your customer and company inventory via queries and reports. This is a practical skill which is sought after in the workplace. Part 1 – Downloading the data Download the project file, AccessProjectData.zip. This compressed archive contains an Access database and an Excel workbook containing your order log. You will want to make frequent backups of this file as you work on the project in case any unexpected thing happens. Part 2 - Importing Data Open datafile.accdb. In order to complete this project you will need to import the order data. The order processing department has saved the data as the Excel workbook named Orders.xlsx. Change the field options as follows: 1. Integer: {OrderNum, CustomerID, ProductID} 2. Date/Time: {DateEntered} 3. Yes/No: {Shipped, Paid} Make certain that OrderNum is the primary key for the new table, and delete the automatically generated attribute ID. The new table should be named ORDER. Part 3 - Changes in the Database Information As part of your continuing operations some of the information in the database needs to be updated periodically. The following new developments have occurred in the last week and your database needs to be updated accordingly. 1. Customer #20, Erin Kling has married and her new last name is Smith. 2. Customer #35, Jane Fonda, was dissatisfied with your service, and has asked to be removed from your database. Part 4 - Changes in Database Structure You have also noticed that the database structure itself needs to be changed slightly. 1. Create the following relationships (Enforce Referential Integrity, Cascade Update, Cascade Delete for all): a) CUSTOMER to ORDER (using CustomerID) - 1 to Many b) PRODUCT to ORDER (using ProductID) - 1 to Many Part 5 - Queries Now that you have made the necessary changes to your database you are ready to check for some information. 1. We will have a special sale event for the NY state customer. Try to create a query named “ qryNYCustomer” to find customers in the NY state. This query should show the customer first name, last name, address, city, state, and email address. (Hints: 16 records) 2. Some Customers have paid and are still waiting for their orders to be shipped. This is not good for business. Create a Query named “qryPaidNotShipped” that shows these customers. This query should show the CustomerID, the date of the order, First Name, Last Name, the Shipped, and Paid fields. (Hints: 8 records.)
