Hi, I hope this proposal finds you in good health! I have a plethora of experience with RPi(s) and building motion detection system. I suggest using PIR sensors to sense the heat, else we can also use complex sonar based detector if you want, but that can be a overkill. The PIR sensor once triggered will send an interrupt to RPi which will turn on the light and start the recording via a USB based or RPi based camera. Once the PIR Sensors detect that there is no one left the recording will stop. I can assure you that I can finish my proposed solution both Software and Hardware in minimal time.
