Hello. I need the energy balance calculations for a 1MW steam turbine power plant.
I am looking, above all, for the calculations of energy needed in each of the phases of the steam process, with the associated Enthalpy-Temperature diagram and Temperature-Entropy diagram points.
The specifications for the turbine/ steam at the intake is 42Bar at 420C, with a Specific Steam Consumption of 6000kg/h. Since it is a condensation turbine, the output temperature is at 105C.
Consider the efficiency of the turbine of 85%.
I need a step by step explanation about the calculations, associated with the points on the ht diagram and th diagram. For example, this could be part of the answer: Considering the water at 105C and 42bar, and from steam table 1, the enthalpy is 440; then we add XXX kJ of energy up to point 2, where the saturated steam temperature at 42bar is 254; this value is obtained from steam table 2.... etc.
Summarizing. Water enters the boiler at 105C and 42bar; it is heated to 420C, goes into the turbine, generates work, condenses at the steam output of turbine, goes into heat exchanger and back to boiler.
Just in case: has to be SI units.
I just want the calculations to see how much energy I will need to provide to the boiler to achieve this 1MW of shaft output.
