The assignment task aims to develop and consolidate students’ ability to understand and critically evaluate information contained in published annual reports, contextualising this knowledge within the global professional and economic environment. The task involves a detailed analysis of Google’s annual report for the year 2014. Your task is to write a report that contains: 1) An analysis and your comments on the company’s financial position 2) An analysis and your observations of risks identified within the report. This assignment is to be undertaken individually. The due date is 14th April, 2016 by 11:59 am (AEST). There will be no extensions of time granted unless there are exceptional circumstances and those are within the applicable rules for granting such extensions. Any material used in this assignment must be acknowledged and appropriately referenced. Please refer to the Unit Guide for more information on ‘referencing’ requirements. The reference list (using Harvard Referencing System) is not included in the total word count. If you include tables and figures these are also not included in the word count.
