I work in academia as a professor and administrator of a tutoring center. I was bouncing a very broad idea I've had for almost a decade about a potential science fiction - horror novel and/or movie script I've had to one of my writing tutors. I mentioned that I wanted to hire a writer to consult and write it for me and they recommended this website. I'm a very lucid dreamer and the idea actually came to me during a series of dreams I was having. Since then I've come up with a very broad plot concept and some overall arching themes and big ideas. I don't have much else. For example, I have no ideas on main characters. That would be completely up to whoever I hire to consult to pitch ideas to me based off what I already have in terms of ideas for the plot. Below is some basic information without giving too much away. I'm looking for an experienced consultant/writer who is familiar with these genres and genuinely finds them intriguing. I find that passionate writers who are interested in what they are writing about are more productive and effective. *It's part "zombie" horror. But not the stereotypical undead zombie. Think more "28 Days Later" zombie. *It's part inter-dimensional creature horror. Think less campy and more terrifying "Pacific Rim". *It's part imaginative dreamscape meets astral projection. Think more "Sucker Punch" cinematic visual aesthetics. I also want this to be grounded in as much real world science as possible to help make it more realistic and believable. While I have a lot of big concepts and a few small details the majority of this is going to be the writers discretion about how to bring it to life. I'm very open to the writers own ideas of how to make this a reality. I also have no timetable on this. I'm not in any rush. As I said earlier, I have had this idea for almost a decade. With that being said if this is a project you want to take on to work on the side when you have free time and make some extra money then that is what I'm looking for.

I believe that you want to take it a step further by giving a more elaborate scientific explanation? It's part inter-dimensional creature horror. Think less campy and more terrifying "Pacific Rim # Now this is complicated and needs to be discussed because horror relies on mystery - science on the other hand, relies on reasoning and explanation, mixing both genres is tricky to say the least. I am interested to know how you intend to merge science fiction with horror? Usually, we see elements of situational comedy to lower down the gore - (most writers and filmmakers wont admit it but they rip off Japanese Anime when it comes to juggling genres) *It's part imaginative dreamscape meets astral projection. Think more "Sucker Punch" cinematic visual aesthetics. #Sounds interesting. Personally, I am very experienced with dream analysis and have seen my share of weird stuff, though I see all of it as a projection of my own mind.
