I need someone to prepare a 2 part vector file for laser cutting. They have specific instructions for the laser cutting machine.
I am wanting to get a pair of flip flops cut from acrylic and need the two parts of the vector, the base and the strap. Approx 3cm in height. I will be gluing the pieces together.
Doesn't need to be in colour as it's just to submit to the laser cutting company.
Attached is the vector file template, open it with a vector program (e.g. Gravit, Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, etc).
This document is 600mm x 300mm, and in RGB colour mode.
I require someone to format my flip flops for laser cutting by setting up cut lines, the base and the strap will need to be on two different templates as they will be cut from two different coloured acrylics. The base of the flip flop is to be approx. 5cm and then the strap the correct ratio so I can glue them together. I need one template to be covered in the base of the flip flops, and one template to have enough straps to go with all the bases.
• All cut lines are to be RED (255, 0, 0) 0.1pt stroke.
• Leave at least 1mm between each shape, and stay within 2-3mm from the edges.
• Completely remove any lines in your file that are not required, including any duplicate lines (the laser will cut every red line in your file, even if they are hidden by a shape or clipping mask). Duplicate cut lines may cause burning and scorching from excessive cutting.
Start in the top left hand corner
Arrange the file in columns, starting in the top left hand corner.
Leave 2-3mm from the material edge
My shapes have to physically fit within the size of the material, so leave a 2-3mm margin around the edge of your artboard. In the file template, this is demonstrated by an orange rectangle (so fit the shapes within the orange rectangle).
Arrange the shapes in columns
Working from the top left hand corner, arrange the shapes from top to bottom, left to right.
Tessellate shapes to fit closer
Try rotating your shapes to tessellate them to fit closer together.
Save Your File
Ensure that you preserve the illustrator editing capabilities and include any linked files. Vector file formats could include AI, EPS, SVG, DXF, DWG, and PDF (if the PDF was created in a vector program).

I understood your requirement and I've done this similar job before in film processing company and also sticker cutting.
BUT I have some question,
1) You need your base to be 3 cm height or 5 cm height?
2) According to the sample shown in your template, Do you need the base to fill with black colour or just need it to be in RED cutting line? (If need the base to fill with black, then how much space in between red cutting line and engraving area (black fill area - the base)? )
3) You need to arrange all the pair of base (as much as possible) in 1 full template (600x300) and another strap in another template right? (If base has 50 pair, then must have 50 pair of strap on another template)
4) The 2 base (left and right) not necessary must be arrange in parallel right? Maybe the right base can be move down slightly to fit the space.
