Appception designs tools to help developers create HTML5
(i.e. HTML/CSS/JavaScript) native apps for mobile devices.
As part of an effort to define app interfaces to local and
web services, we are compiling a set of sample apps ("Demos")
to show how HTML5 can be used. The purpose of this project is
to build one of those Demos. This project is intentionally
simple since it is mainly to be used for illustration.
The code should be clean and well commented. The code can be
tested in a web browser; I will later package it in the correct
format of a mobile app.
You have been invited to this project based on your ScriptLance
profile and our criteria. If the project is successful, we may
offer additional projects, and/or longer-term work (e.g. a
ScriptLance Job Listing), if you are interested. So an important
goal of this project is for us to learn more about each other.
Here are the project details:
Create a Demo showing either:
A) Use of indexed databases with HTML5/CSS/JavaScript
An example is:
OR
B) Use of Twitter services that require OAuth authentication
The Demo should be visually pleasing.
It is highly desirable, though not required, to use the jQuery Mobile
UI ([login to view URL]) for the Demo.
Some existing Appception Demos are here:
This Demo can be simple, or made more interesting if you wish.
In either case, it should be well-commented since it will be used
as an example for developers.
I anticipate the work would require something like the following steps:
- Research Demo topic and APIs
- Implement Demo code
- Test
- Document code and explain results
The deliverable is: HTML/CSS/JavaScript file(s) and any images used.
The Demo can be tested in a desktop Chrome browser; I will do any
packaging required to run as an HTML5 native app.
Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.
