I use ffmpeg to transcode videos on the Mac and am looking for a Droplet or other little app that can automate this process. I'd like to drag a single video file, or multiple video files onto the icon and have it batch process them. It could be a simple app with no UI and output an h.264 at an 18 setting in MP4 format; or it could give me a window with a few options (sometimes I want an uncompressed output, for instance).
Retaining every frame and not duplication any frames is key in my work. For instance if the original is 15 FPS, I need the output to be 15 FPS. If the original had 3,000 frames, the output needs to have 3,000 frames.
I can do this pretty easily in Windows by creating a .bat file, but it seems to elude me on the Mac.
Hello,
I think the easy and simple way for this is by using AppleScript or Automator method. So I will create a new apple-script code which will based an event of your certain apps or just the Finder event such as drag and drop on a Folder. Once the file dropped on a folder it will be processed by the apple-script based on your requirement. That's OK for you?
Let me know your feedback.
Best Regards,
Khamid

Hi there,
I've worked with Linux/Unix shells for many years. (Mac is also Unix variant, also)
I have good experience in batch processing of images and videos. Used ImageMagick and Gimp for batch image processing, used FFMpeg for batch video processing.
I also have Mac as secondary dev computer so I can test the script on Mac if you have any issue with my delivery.
Kind regards,
Maide
