I NEED HELP FINDING SOFTWARE THAT CAN PACKAGE MY APP AND FOR YOU TO TELL ME HOW TO DO IT, IF THERE IS A SOLUTION OUT THERE ALREADY THAT YOU KNOW OF AND CAN TELL ME HOW TO USE IT THEN YOU DO NOT NEED TO DEVELOP ANYTHING. I currently have a node js application that I sell to users. I push a new update ~every month and so I need to send them a full new version. I do not want them to be able to see the code behind the application. Currently I am using nexe to package the app, and then I include all of the files along with it (see photo). However, this is not very professional, and I would like for there to be an installer and it simply installs the app. It must be encrypted/obfuscated, something so that users cannot get the code. I want to change from what I am currently doing because a) not very professional and b) Nexe doesn't protect the code well. It would be a bonus if you could supply an 'updater' of some sort so users do not need to uninstall and then reinstall a full new version - if they just had to click update and the current version updated this would be better.

Hello, there are three alternatives to nexe that I can suggest. EncloseJS uses V8 to compile into native code, which means everything is obfuscated. But if you want an installer / auto - updated then I suggest using electron to build your application, (you can use electron without ever spawning a browser window) and bundle it with electron-packager or electron-builder and add OTA updates to your application VIA NSIS web installers and Squirrel or write your own logic in js. The third option is NCC. Personally I would suggest using electron. I have plenty of experience with Node.js, electron and typescript, and have plenty of experience with other languages. you can ue jsscrambler with web pack to protect your code from stolen from client side, or you can use javascript-obfuscator which is an open source package similar to js scrambler
