I am a newbie, please excuse my ignorance. There are 2 main components: [login to view URL] password access system. It will be secure, automatic and built using PHP and mySQL. Each user will have a username (their email address) plus an automatically generated password. Passwords will be changed automatically each month. I will be able to initiate a change at any time, manually. When the user enters his email address and old password, a new password will be emailed to him automatically. It should have capacity for up to 10 users, each with their own username and password. [login to view URL] "spreadsheet" component. This will convert my proprietary spreadsheet for use on the web. It will securely hide the underlying calculations from the user. You will write an executable file, that is compiled and the source is hidden on the server. You will code against a mySQL dbase. By using PHP you will enable the user to input data. He will then click a “calculate?? button and the stored procedure will then run on the server (and out of the users view). An output page will then appear with all the correct results of the calculations. It will be possible for the user to copy from the web page and paste into an excel spreadsheet. The user will only have access to values not formulas. Users input or results data will not be saved from session to session. For ease of management, it should be possible for me to make changes online (rather than via ftp, web form or learning mySQL). If you are interested, I will send a copy of the excel spreadsheet I wish to convert.
