My name is Huss, I am a student at Carleton university studying commerce. My forth year project is to construct a functional online community that I feel would flourish. I am also an employee of CIMA, which provides opportunities for many photographers, designers, models, stylist, journalists, and artists of many kinds. With that in mind I am commissioning a website that would help me get an A and maybe use to construct an online community that would help the fashion industry here in Canada (this is for charity and will be offered for free). The idea is to construct a place where any one of these artists can set up an account to be managed by the site and given the opportunity to market one's talents. So to compete with existing sites this site will group a number of digital mediums that would help the customer with an interactive portfolio and help the clients with a complete and professional display. Imagine a simple login much like face book, yet with a networking opportunity much like face book awaiting behind the login page. There are three types of logins: Admin User (model, artist, photographer,..ect they would be pick which type of user they are and they would be differentiated by colour) Client (the person that is looking for these people) To sign up, the account must be approved, each person must enter all the information needed, uploaded a descent amount of pictures, videos, resumes, sample work. The website provides the following to users (all users can edit their account but not other users accounts): Online portfolio that is based in flash that has a page flipping effect with pictures they uploaded with editing opportunity after. Online forum with managed topics (could be any forum but must not have to login again and must have an edited theme that fits the site's image) Online blog (could be any blog, just has to be fun, easy, with the same theme or an edited theme and without a separate login) Each user has a comment wall for their account and work Each user has a comment wall for each picture on their own gallery; gallery could be organized in albums Each user can build or start a project, then by permission of admin; ask to invite to the project some of the other users and only admin can provide the contact after approval Users have a home page that can be changed with html templates that could be designed at a later time yet for the mean time they have a template (which is defferent colour for each of the arts, for example models are red, designers are blue) Users can request to add friends Users cannot contact each other but can only contact admin requesting contact Users can upload pictures and videos into their own video or picture gallery Users have the ability to search for any other client or user by many different key word or talents Users can only see the first name and the last initials of any other user On the home page of the user: User sees request from others for work user can accept or reject work with a place to send comments admin and the user that requested the project (user can also request to ask more questions before accepting) User sees status of project requests submitted User sees current online users User can see recently edited portfolios User latest site news User sees latest forum posts User sees own wall User sees a control panel that houses all of the features the site offers that is animated User can choose to listen to live radio User can search other portfolios and other clients User can browse last posted jobs and they can apply for them (clients will request a job post and the site would host it) Users could also go to the cima panel links where there are link to all the other services that cima offers (I have all the other link but there must me another panel other than the major control panel) User would also see live advertisements placed at the top of the site or other places depending on design Current projects and past projects and their success Projects(this is like groups on face book with some limitations): User s can request to add a project from admin The request will entail details provided at a later time The request can be public or just private for admin to suggest or search for the best candidates The request is viewed under projects which are categorized depending on the request and the type or work or need The user can see on their home page only the request that cater to what they offer User can ask questions on a wall for the project User can invite others to this project After project is accepted the project is then closed and a conclusion is asked for from the user who opened the project User can close the project after date has passed and place a conclusion with pictures and or video Project can be re-opened if there are problems, project then send a message to the candidates instantly informing them that the project has been reactivated Projects have a time line that is initiated in the beginning of the project but extensions are provided incase of reactivation purposes Clients: Clients have a simple portfolio that describes their company and their needs Clients are not advertised on the site for users to see only to admin Yet clients can see all users Clients have to apply to admin to become clients They can construct a wish list They have project submission abilities More details on this section at a later time Admin: I am sure any one can guess what needs to go into this but when the project begins I will provide more information on this. The website must have: Advertisements that can be easily managed from an admin account or ftp uploaded or by a control panel that is installed jut for the ads system (there are a lot of free ones out there just have to be installed right) Must be very easy to use and very interactive. The layout must be very simple yet well designed from a constructive perspective. I am looking for as much flash use as possible that would intrigue the user. The website is to be called CIMA CENTER, and it would act as just that. The design layout and function would serve a center like base. The logo CIMA CENTER is already designed, yet all other design work is part of this project. These are the minor and major details of the project, yet there are many dots yet not connected. I will provide any more detail upon request. My mission is to construct a unity between the mind on businessman, the soul of an artist and the ability of the online unity to create this portal. Must have a rating option for users by admin and clients and a rating program of clients by admin The site must also have a point award program for users, that are awarded due to activity, visitation, projects accepted and posted, events posted or hosted, high rating of their portfolio by admin or clients, users can win prizes dues to point system, the points can be viewed at all times on the page right beside the greeting of the user at the top of the page (only user can gain points, more detail on this system later) I am open minded to all partnership or creative rights to this project yet ownership and rights of this project are to sole commissioner. Please think about the project before bidding, I am a student and only looking for productive solutions. Finally I could not possibly ask or know all the definite details that I need to provide for this site to be functional and productive. I am looking for someone to apply the concept and fill the gaps, so I will not finalize my payment unless the site functions on a realistic and productive plate form.
