Overview
Mix Bikini is a new concept for how people shop for and buy bikinis. The concept is simple,
. As bikinis have various different parts that make up a full outfit, Mix Bikini sells the
various different parts and components of bikinis in a multitude of designs, allowing the
customer to assemble them and create new and exciting styles. The concept allows consumers
to play "designer" and express their individuality through fashion.
Technology will be used to enhance the design and shopping experience. To do so, we need to
develop a web application that will be integrated with [login to view URL]'s ecommerce and provide
a platform for customers to view all the different designs and components Mix offers, while
being able to drag and drop them to see how they would look as a completed bikini. The
software will also include a 'virtual closet' that will remember what items a person owns when
logged into their account, allowing the customer to view new bikini configurations using both
items they already own and those they don't, prompting them to purchase only what they
don't own if they choose to make their design a reality. Social applications will also be
integrated into the application that will allow the user to share their designs on sites such as
Facebook and Twitter.
.
High Level Features
Design Studio (application's "Dashboard")
The Design Studio will be the main area where the user can view the different designs
and components Mix offers. It will also be where the Avatar Box is and where users can
drag and drop different parts to make up a full outfit. Mix can also feature designs in the
Design Studio (new designs, components they wish to sell through etc.).
Avatar Box
The Avatar Box is located in the Design Studio, and is where the user can view the bikini
they are creating through dragging and dropping the different designs into the Avatar
Box.
Virtual Closet
The Virtual Closet will be where logged in users previously purchased Mix Bikini parts
are stored. They can access their Virtual Closet just as they would a normal closet, and
pull items from their Virtual Closet to use in new bikini creations. The software
remembers what the user already owns, so that when they go to purchase their new
bikini design they are asked whether or not they want to purchase all the parts or just
what they don't own (in the event they need everything because they are giving a gift
etc.). Users can also go into the Virtual Closet and manually add or remove components
they may have acquired or lost while not logged into the software.
Save Project
If a user has designed a bikini but is not ready to purchase it, they can save it as a
project. It will be accessible next time they login.
Share Project
If a user wishes, they can easily share their project on various social media sites with a
simple click.
Integration with [login to view URL]
The application will not require ecommerce functionality, as purchases will be made on
the partner site at venus.com. However, the application will be able to export details of
the designs and components to venus where the user will be able to finish their
purchase.
Login and Registration
The registration process enables a new user to set up an account. This process can
harvest any information Mix Bikini needs.
? Functionality for user to change password/update account
? Functionality for user to retrieve username or password if they forget them.
Language
This direction integrates and is built on Ruby on Rails (RoR)
