GHOST PROJECT - E-business Application Specialists Required The focus of this project will be to create an unique market share application based on specific market data supplied by several sources in a number formats which is to be accessed by users in a number of ways from historical to graphical. This is a fairly straight forward project, the requirements of strict adherence to Best Practices and Standards are deemed MANDATORY to ensure Quality for this project. Therefore we require an Application Developer with strong Web standards and ISO skill-set to be responsible for the various activities associated with the design, development and maintenance of application development of this project according to the specifications. A summary overview of the specifications will be made available via the project message board, with the full specifications being made available via download after initial discussion via pmb. You will be responsible for coding, debugging, test plan preparation, test plan execution, enterprise documentation, implementation and coordination of this e-business application release. The ideal provider must have the following experience: The successful provider will possess the following: # At least 1 years experience in Internet software development # demonstrated experience in scaling web applications # Solid understanding of the operating environment, programming languages and protocols that are used day-to-day: # Apache, MySQL # Perl, PHP (Zend), # HTTP, TCP/IP # URI/URL, XML # must have W3C and ISO Development experience # excellent communication skills - both written and verbal # Skills that will be considered an asset (but not essential): C, C++, Ruby, Ajax The successful provider for this project will be responsible for the following: * Ensure successful operation, management and enhancement of this web-based product and business application * Perform programming, application development, support and maintenance duties to ensure the provision of client-valued, integrated and effective web-based product and business application * Develop technical documents and contribute to the development of enterprise documentation, including data models, object models and technical design specifications * Perform technical design of databases, web-based product and business application, at the individual application and the enterprise level * Build, maintain, support and unit test database and software components * Support and maintain business application and web-based product As a highly experienced Application Specialist you will have the ability to demonstrate your experience in: * Use of modern application development tools including: integrated development environment (IDE), unit testing, source code management, data and class modelling, code and class generators, code checkers, and reporting * Following approved methodologies, standards, guidelines, procedures and perform quality assurance * Application and business system development * Application support and maintenance programming * Systems integration * Unit and systems testing * Quality assurance of new and existing business systems You will be responsible for maximising service quality through the use of best practices and standard, shared processes. Deliverables: 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
