We need a customized mobile app to realize a teamwork machine data maintenance.
We are selling products to optimize paper production. Our customers are all from different paper mills. That means we need to maintain all the installed paper machine data from our customers in order to know our customers better.
We have all the installed machine data in our own CRM.
However, the current situation is that the data is not maintained very well. As our people can only update the data on PC end for our CRM. But for our sales people, it’s surely difficult to sit in front of a computer all the time.
That’s why we need a customized mobile app (developed thru FileMaker) that can our sales guys and on-site engineers and our customer’s guys can work on and update those data together.
Brief: Customers’ assets data maintenance by teamwork
1. Data can be imported to the app (excel file).
2. Users can visit it on mobile devices. (need to consider the appearance between Apple ios and the others like Andriod or Pad. Webpage form?)
3. Users can search and update any data, but when they update the data, that’s only “proposal” phase.
4. We need to set up “authorization”. Ideally 3 levels:
- Staff (update data, proposal)
- Manager (update data directly, release staff proposal)
- Admin (update data directly, release staff proposal, upload original file, download all the report)
5. Eventually we need all the data can be generated to an excel file and download by ourselves.
6. The specific line of data can be sent to someone else for teamwork through WeChat.
Our ideal process is as below.
1. Export all the installed machine data (.xls) from our CRM. (We will do it ourselves.)
2. Import the .xls file to the app.
3. People can revise/add/delete all the data on mobile device. However, need authorization to release these “proposals”.
4. Sales guys can send specific line of data to anyone else through WeChat for help. (Reason: I can have all of our people installed the app. However, we cannot control customer to install that app. And everyone in China has WeChat communication tool. We need that carrier for the teamwork.)
5. Once another one receives that line of data, e.g. an on-site engineer, the engineer can update the data as well. It will lead to “waiting for manager to release the proposal” phase.
6. Admin will export all the data from the app once a month.
7. Admin will upload all the data onto our CRM to cover all the original data. (We will do it by ourselves manually.)
