New Checkout for our site

Ron Currie and Sons Ltd – Checkout Project - [login to view URL] based on Opencart 2.1.0.2 We have now outgrown our current checkout on the site and we are looking for a new checkout for it. The current checkout suffers from a few bugs on Ipads and small screened laptops and in general people find it a little difficult to use. What people struggle with Entering addresses – The address form is sometimes buggy on small laptops and ipads and does not function 100%. On small laptops the “submit address” button is hidden and the screen does not scroll correctly. Choosing delivery – People sometimes miss the delivery options on the right of the screen. Payment methods – The choice of payment methods is on the left and is ALWAYS missed by people when checking out. What’s special about the current checkout? Choose Delivery Day – Customers can choose a delivery day based on several factors. These are the delivery/collection service and the manufacturer setting (regards time to order in based on the product). This means that when an item has to be ordered in, the time it usually takes to arrive is combined with the delivery method time and this then allows a customer to choose a suitable delivery date. Delivery cost is affected by address – The address that customers enter will affect delivery cost through postcode matching. Restriction of payment methods – If the billing and delivery address do not match, then the checkout should not offer sagepay, and should only allow Paypal and Bank Transfer. Sharing of Bank Details – On Bank transfer payment, the bank details should only be given AFTER the confirm order button is pressed. Postcode lookup on address forms – The address forms use a postcode lookup service for them to select their delivery address. What I am looking for I would like a much simpler checkout layout and system, whilst maintaining the functions of it as above. I would like to have the option to use a “paypal checkout”, which completes all the addresses etc and streamlines the process straight through to payment. Similar to how [login to view URL] works. The customer must be aware during the checkout if any of their products are to order in and will delay delivery. This is based on the manufacturer setting and product type. I need more clarity in entering the addresses and choosing the payment methods. For instance, I like how the checkout for Debenhams makes you choose if its for collection or delivery early on in the checkout. However, on this, some products are delivery only so it would have to be restricted based on the manufacturer and what is in the basket. I want the route through the checkout to payment and completion of the order to be faster and less clicks than currently. Maybe have all the checkout on one page, assuming it has no loading delays. Its essential that a customer can review all information before submitting their order. Prerequisites All code to be annotated with variables, methods, function classes, explained. We need to know that we and other developers can understand and alter the code. The checkout needs to be developed on our staging site. When it is ready we will give you access to our live site to install it. NDA agreement and IP transfer agreement. Full payment on completion of the work only.
