Normally the problem with emails, given that you didn't change the code, are in the server. Do you have access to the server configuration? In any case. Best way to know what's the problem is checking the code against a server that is known to be working. I have extensive experience with wordpress and how it manages email. I'm pretty sure I can working something out in a couple hours.
