I love fiction best, and you'll see on my Profile Page that most of my editing is in that genre. Do you know where you'll be marketing your book? That should determine the version of English you require of your editor. I am fluent in both US English, having grown up there, and UK English, since I now live in New Zealand, which also uses UK English. Be sure that after you've made your choice of language, your selected editor is fluent in it. There are some major differences between the two. I always read through a book three times. The first readthrough is so I can understand the focus and flow of the piece. In the second readthrough I do the major editing and offer proposed edits (through Track Changes). For the final review I view it as though all edits are accepted so I can see everything is the way it should be. If there are still a few (always minor) changes necessary then I add those to the copy I send to you. So you're getting a very thorough edit for the same price others might give you only one rough readthrough.
