First off, I do not have any experience in selling sponsorships for events. I've been involved in more than my share of conferences and trade shows over the years, from tabletop booths at local and regional newspaper shows to Las Vegas shows with tens of thousands of attendees and multiple venues around town. I've been on the other end of that sales process as I've had to organize booths and sponsorships for a number of events.
I've been in sales, sales management, and marketing for over 30 years and have been involved in every level of sales from door to door sales of cash registers and copiers, to working with senior executives on replacing entire publishing systems in some of the largest newspapers and advertising agencies in the US. I've done face-to-face sales, phone sales, conference floor sales, presentations of products in front of individuals and groups of over 500, and I've managed sales teams of over 20 reps spread around the US and Canada. I'm located exactly midway between NYC and Philadelphia in the EST and have no issues working long enough to cover all 50 States if calls into Alaska and Hawaii are necessary, and I assume that they will be at times.
