UPDATE: answered in the chat.
Hi there, my name is Matt Sergei (do call me Matt) and would like to help you -
if more details are available. Let me assume:
1. That image was deleted on the disk with manual action (e.g. dragging a file to a recycle bin icon and then emptying that).
2. There’s no way to use any service (social network) to retrieve the image as being displayed on your grandson’s “feed/wall” (of particular network e.g. Instagram and Tik Tok thesedays).
3. Image was saved either from an e-mail message or from a social network communication (see #2).
So, when a computer user deletes the file that doesn’t get erased - usually computer’s operating system (Windows, Mac, Linux) just removes the information about the file on the disk and declare its space free but the file content stays physically on the disk. In that case and if there was modest amount of disk writes (of other new files) it might be possible to retrieve and reconstruct the deleted file. It's not guaranteed though.
Remote access to the computer would be required though.
So, that’s a suggestion. Am interested in what really happened.
Regards,
Matt
