RaspberryPi_Linux_RapidSMS_GMSDongle

Hi I have some experience with Linux and am very comfortable in python and flask, but haven't used Django. I am trying have a raspberry pi send and receive text message using a Huawei K3765 dongle. The raspberry pi connected to a VPN since the pi will be in Lesotho and I am in amsterdam. I found rapidSMS and Kannel and believe they are a simpler solution since the app can be written in django. But i’m getting a bit confused for configuring a gsm dongle to work with rapidSMS. I would like help setting up a system which takes the messages coming into and being sent from the dongle to be appended to a database. The database should have the following headers: Index | Date | Direction | DongleNumber | OtherNumber | Status | Credit | Message Index - a number Date - YYYY:MM:DD-HH:MM:SS Direction - Sent / Received DongleNumber - (number of the sim card in the dongle) +31615660356 OtherNumber - number which the text message was sent to or received from Status - Success / Fail Credit - (this is optional, but it would be nice to know if it’s possible) The credit remaining on the dongle Message - The message which was sent from or two the dongle, special characters can be included. I would like to record what you are doing, so if you could print your “history” and let me let me know what files were created/configured that would be excellent because i want to be able to reproduce this. I would like to have a delivered image file and .config file so i can quickly redo this if need be. I started doing this with Asterisk but then found rapid SIS. The dongle works (can send and receive messages, with raspbx, [login to view URL]) I have a configured raspberry pi which can be accessed via my VPN. I can send and receive messages from the pi using the asterisk commands. I can give you the VIP log-in credentials so you can access a pi on my local network.
