I'm an industrial designer with 1 year of experience in the plastics field, have already worked on consumer plastic products like dustbins and plastic chairs, but i am looking to reach the next level through your help and guidance. I am already good with Solidworks - surfacing as well as solid modelling. However, i need to learn from as expert in the field - 1) Tolerencing- how to do it, what is the right method, how it affects the (Plastic and metal) product in real life, specifically for assemblies - and how to integrate it directly in CAD. 2) 2D drawings - How to make technically sound manufacturing drawings of parts - specifically where assembly is involved. For example, an electronic casing of an internet router. 3) Mechanical fittings - i) Plastic snapfits, how to make them strong and perfect from usage standpoint. ii) Screw, nuts bolts, what are the standards, how to select the right nuts and bolts for my product and some information about threading. iii) Plastic hinges - like those in lunch boxes. 4) Stucture and ribbing - i) Center of gravity, how to design plastic products for best strength and life. ii) How ribs are given - briefly. And rules of adding ribs to plastic products.( Also includes lip and groove) 5) Analysis - some brielf info on plastic mold flow analysis in Solidworks, stress and load analysis, and things like symmetry check.
