I am a native Japanese business person in mid 50's with a good mix of work experience up to executive and president level
now working from home solo, mostly translations and editing/polishing of Japanese from English and consulting for online retail businesses.
The "bilingual writing" experience includes my 7 years of experience at world's largest public relations firms, Burson-Marsteller and Hill-Knowlton, both in Tokyo, to translate and write various corporate communications materials such as press releases and brochure copies for world's largest multi-national companies. Often I arranged media interviews with local and HQ executives of my clients and did translations while consulting and attending interviews for them.
Currently, the focus is more on managing my own online retail stores in English in addition to various on-going English-Japanese translation work. I have been supervising lots of English-speaking assistants, mainly from the Philippines with daily interactions and guidance. As I manage key communications with delicate handling to avoid troubles and negative feedback for my online stores.
This overall experience also explains why I have not been a long-time full-time translator per se as I have not taken that profession/career path but my passion for English is on par or even beyond the professional English translators. I also have not registered on freelance sites like upwork and freelancer until recently where I don't have a long history.
