Need to setup MS Outlook - Calendar in a shared environment with 15 or so users. They retain other parts of Outlook (e-mail, contacts etc.) on their individual basis. We are not using MS Exchange. From another MS Access database (also shared), the Outlook Calendar appointment needs to be opened, managed & a reference to the Outlook Calendar meeting maintained in the Access table. This reference must be bidirectional, so we can go from access to Outlook- Calendar & vice versa. The access table may have a couple of text fields & a date/time field that will show the date/time of the calendar in Outlook [login to view URL] user interface of this can be mutually discussed. The solution shall support current to last 3 versions of MS Office in any combinations. Use the latest technology to build/develop this. Samplw MS Access file will be provided to the winning person. All the source of the application will be provided to us & will become our exclusive property. Include a few hours of training to our folks so that we can maintain the application once it is built. If you do not ask any questions, we shall assume that you fully understand & accept all the requirements. Respond only if you are serious & will respond to us within a day. Need you to react & deliver quickly, without any delay. Respond with the number of days or hours you will take to deliver after AWARD, if it is not specified by you, we assume one week. The first beta version will be required after 4 days. No down payment. We reserve the right to take any action, if delay in delivery.

Hi, I've just completed an SMS timesheet application (employees clock-in and clock-out of jobs using their mobile phones) that used Outlook automation extensively (receiving SMSs converted to emails) and Excel VBA to record the job codes within the SMS and timesheet entries (message times) - please see my Profile for the feedback (accessible by clicking my username System3000). I also have two postgraduate qualifications. Your project will therefore be straightforward to implement. I propose the following: 1. An Outlook VBA module that a) Detects additions/changes/deletions to the user's calender and records the changes in a central shared Access DB. b) Updates the user's calender to reflect changes made to the Access DB made by other users' calenders. 2. A central Access DB that stores the most recent (entire) copy of each appointment/meeting item as attachments within the database plus your required text fields and date/time field, and additional (hidden) fields for synchronizing purposes (ID/last modified time/deleted) - the Access DB will then perform exactly the same function as MS Exchange Server. 3. Each user's calendar will therefore be identical with full properties, including reminders etc... 4. Any additional features you may require, e.g. emailing the user when the calendar has been changed (ordinarily attendees of meetings are notified of changes to meetings but not appointments - which don't have attendees other than the user creating the appointment obviously).

Hello, So a single MS Access database would be accessed by all users of your Outlook. An updated MS Access database content would be automatically synced the Outlook Calendar of each user whenever they open/use their Outlook. Also, every user update their Outlook Calendar, the update would be recorded on MS Access. It is what you require? I think it is better if the process concerned on MS Outlook side, so the Outlook would check the database content (for update, new, or deleted events). And the Outlook would push the update to MS Access. So, in this case, there would be an identifier for each event created/updated by each Outlook user. So, system would know which calendar is privately used or public. What do you think? I will use MS Visual Studio Tools for Office for the addin development of this Outlook sync tools.
