The project is about creating a web-site to position a osCommerce freelance specialist and service provider. To be very clear: This is more a copywriting job than a designers job - and I want both from one single source.
The site shall be strict xhtml with css and no tables, and without frames, js. It shall pass 100% of the w3c xhtml and css validator suite. If it knows about the usual IE, Mozilla or Safari bugs and takes them into css-account, the better.
A first draft of design and navigation is available, but I don't not enforce it's usage if it makes life easier for you to create your own.
Still I don't want any machine generated code. So please no DreamWeaver wizards or alikes. Hand crafted code only, properly named, documented and formatted.
Beside the technical aspects of site creation, the copywriting aspect is more important. So if you are an excellent copywriter, simply stick with the template, no problem.
The positioning ranking is:
- osCommerce specialist
- freelance programmer
- european ebusiness consultant
I currently see the following pages:
- Welcome: 1 page (main page of domain)
- 2 jump pages (aka gateway or doorway)
- 3 landing pages with cgi
- About section: 3 pages (background, references, blog)
- Services section: 1 page per service line = 6 pages
- Contact Us: 1 page with cgi
- Join/Unsubscribe mailing list: 1 page with cgi
"Page" = 1 screen-full, ie. 250-350 words.
The site will also have the usual links collection etc., but this is not part of the project, but should be taken into account for site navigation.
Graphics design and/or photos will be an extra issue once we've started, because I don't believe this could be calculated now.
I expect this site to be orginal, ie. although you will certainly have to look at others in this industry for reference, cloning text from competitors is not acceptable. Sorry!
Please contact me for any further question or discussion.
Thanks,
Ben
