We are looking for bids for creating a service for a simple free-to-play fantasy stock exchange game. We have been publishing a site for stock investment game, where our users have registered and chosen company stocks for their fantasy portfolio. The users’ portfolios then compete for profit during the prearranged time. The current service is approximately 5 years old and we are looking to overhaul it completely.
The game must allow for the user to register with their basic information and allow them to build a
portfolio from a specified stock exchange. The service will read the current End-Of-Day values of this exchange in to a database and update the database accordingly once a day. We will be providing either an API or a FTP file download location for the EOD values. Registration will be open for a prearranged time, after which the registration will close. The game must be able to create updated lists of: 1) “top 100” of the users 2) complete list of users and 3) company status page. All of the pages, tables and lists mentioned before must be able to include values such as change of the ranking compared to last update, change of the value, change to the starting value and such. In addition, we must be able to create small toplists for the front page of the service, such as, but not limited to: current risers, top 10 of players and companies. After the prearranged time has elapsed, the service will no longer update itself or the database but will show the last updated state of the game.
Specific requirements for the service functions
- The users will recieve a starting value of money to invest, ie. 20 000 EUR
- The users are able to sell and buy their stocks. Users will be deducted a “commission fee”
- We will recieve a simple administrator view, which allows us to:
o Manage the list of participating companies (add/remove from the complete list of values)
o Add a value for the possible dividend profit per stock for each company (default 0)
o Remove offending users
o Global values, such as "starting money" and such, do not need to be accessed via admin, a config file will also do
- Users may search for other users and company names
- Users will have a light user page, where they may edit their personal info and can bookmark or star
companies, and the service will list these starred companies for the users’ page and the company
list page (ie. favourited x times)
- The user will have the ability to reset and change their password
- The user will be able to create a group where they may invite users to join via email. This group
page will only list the user ranking list of joined players
- The service must be mobile browser compliant and responsive to the users’ devices
Technical notes
- We will provide for the server environment for the game
- We will provide for all graphical elements for the game as needed
- The developer will comment the code so that immediate and minor changes are possible for the
buyer
- The service and all its’ components must be Apache2-, MySQL and SSL-compliant, but we are able
to provide language and library support for most concurrent libraries as needed
- We will provide for necessary accounts for deployment on our server environment
The details of the agreement and possible extra work between the developer and the buyer will be negotiated per provided quotes.
