Development of a 3D Object interacive Viewer based on C++/Qt for Collada models

We has several 3D Objects using 3DS Max with the Collada Plugin/Format. We show an user image on this object in a specific way using a Flash Preview. The existing solution (provided in the attached file) need to be redevelopment. We looking for a Demoprogramm that open a Popup as Minimal User interface. It call a method of a library (to develop) to show the 3D Object. We want to integrate it in an existing Software for Manage and Order Photo Products. Our solution is developed in C++ using the Qt Framework. Our software (and the redeveloped Library) has to work on Windows, Mac and Linux - so it is necessary to use Qt technologies (Qt 4.7) like OpenGL. We has three goals: a) Show a product at time of "choose a product" in a better way, to show the consumer how his image look on the product. No interactive necessary (only JPG, show the user image on a model from a predefined angle/position). b) After the user put an oder to the shopping basket, the user will see a new popup "Similar products", where we want to show the user image on another product. No interactive necessary (only JPG, show the user image on a model from a predefined angle/position). c) Show a product in preview of the Desktop Client (like now) and allow to rotate the object and show it from every angle. This feature exist, but we want to switch from the existing Flash Preview to another Solution (OpenGL or other better technology to integrate in Qt/C++). In the Briefing we reference to some existing documentation and code that will help to solve this project. ## Deliverables Briefing ======== Overview -------- Our Desktop Client and our Online Client allows to order Photo Products like Canvas, Photobook and Photo Gifts. If the user create a product, we offer a Preview Mode. For Photobooks and for Photo Gifts the existing solution based on Adobe Flash. In the attached file you get a demo showing how it works with a Photo Mug, Mousepad and others product. Start the HTML-Files and have a look in your browser to get an impression. The models based on Collada (Plugin fuer 3DS Max). Our existing Models are part of the ZIP File as well. Goals ----- Our goal is to use the preview of a photo gift in more ways like in the moment. That will be the following: A) We want to show the user image on products for promotion reasons. We want to call a method providing Model, User Image and a Angle/Point of View to the Object and get a JPG back. B) We want to exchange the existing interactive Flash Solution to a C++/Qt solution (OpenGL or other better technology to integrate in Qt/C++). Project ------- The project has to steps, that are indepdent from each other. We need a quote for both steps, but it could be that we only order the first one. But both steps are related, so it make sense to keep the second step in mind during the realizsation of the first step Step 1) Realizsation of a Library based on C++/Qt, possible to compile on Windows, Mac and Linux to solve goals A) The result should be look like [login to view URL] or goal2.jpg. So we can waive the Flash Integration and switch to an OpenGL (or similar) solution. Integration ----------- The Resourcedir contains the 3D Object and a configuration XML file. The XML file defined position/angel and other parameters, that allows the Solution for step 1 to generate the result. Step 1) The Libary call will get the following parameters: - An Image - ResourceDir (referece to configuration files and the 3D Objects) - productsize (for later use) - outputformat (In the first step: JPG) - outputsize (pixel width/height) Step 2) The outputformat will be extened to "interactive". Outputsize open a Windows with the object and allow to use to rotate using Arrows and Mouse.
