I have a folder created by MS Windows FileHistory.
filename(2017_12_07rest of date-time).xxx
filename(2018_12_5rest of date-time).xxx
The FileHistory index is corrupted and I can't find a way to rebuild it. I would like to
create a new folder folder with exactly the same tree structure. At the bottom of the tree, I would like only the most recent files with the name without the (date). So by example, in the attached jpg, the resulting structure will end up being
FileHistoryCondensed\mss122\..\data\c\users\ms122\Documents
Word Docs (folder with additional files

2017 ytd [login to view URL] 10/28/2017
No deletions of the original folders and subfolders. I'll manually remove them when done.
Need to verify the copy and report any errors to text file
Need to be able to recover gracefully from an inadvertent interruption (ie power down, reboot, etc) and continue when desired without starting all over. Need to report progress of files transferred, files removed etc so we know it is doing something.
If you don't want to do this, but know of an existing script/program that I can find on the internet, I'd greatly appreciate the hint. I haven't found one.
Please review my profile – I believe you will agree I have the talent and experience to complete this project in a timely and cost-efficient basis. Specifically, I am an expert with MS file management and manipulation. I look forward to working with you.
