Visual Artist, photographer, writer, translatorNetherlandsCui Yuxuan (b.1999, Changchun, China) is a visual artist, reseacher, storyteller and community collaborator currently living and working in the Netherlands. Yuxuan holds a BA from School of Foreign Studies & School of Arts, Nanjing University (2021), and obtains her MA Fine Arts at the University of the Arts Utrecht...Cui Yuxuan (b.1999, Changchun, China) is a visual artist, reseacher, storyteller and community collaborator currently living and working in the Netherlands. Yuxuan holds a BA from School of Foreign Studies & School of Arts, Nanjing University (2021), and obtains her MA Fine Arts at the University of the Arts Utrecht (2023). The narratives of her work mediate between reality and fantasy, informed by a deep longing to escape, to get lost and to love. She is concerned with how self-identities shift throughout geographical migration and in different relationships. From a feminist perspective, she explores poetic language, bodily sensation, emotional resonance and intimacy with a cat. Each of these elements serve as subtle interventions and modes of resistance towards the pervasive micro-technologies of power already embedded in history and memory. kevesebb
