Hello,
I need some help with a web-scraping project.
We have an Excel sheet with a list of 80 training courses.
For every course, we need each of the 22 columns filled in - phone number, cost, course description, learning outcomes, etc.
Each entry does require a little bit of thought which means that the task cannot be automated:
1 - For some of the training courses, not all of the information will be available. For example, not all courses give fixed training dates, as they are by special arrangement. Another example is that not all courses state what qualification will be achieved.
2 - Also, we need a little bit of analysis for each course. e.g, there is a column where you must state whether the course is face-to-face, or whether it is e-learning/DVD/printed.
3 - The information is not always clearly stated. For instance, to get the address and phone number of the training course, you often have to navigate to a different part of the site. Or there may be a number of different phone numbers given, and you have to find the correct one for that course.
4 - we need a Course Description and list of Learning Objectives for each entry. The Course Description should be about one paragraph saying what the course is. The course objectives should be a list of bullet points stating what the delegates would learn.
This means that each course takes at least a few minutes to fill in all the information correctly, so there's a good few hours work there.
Because the work is very important to us, we will check that the data matches. We are doing this by giving this work to several people so that we can cross-check the results. We understand that there will be plenty of different data, but we want to guard against incorrect email addresses or phone numbers etc - the sort of things that should definitely be correct. We understand that data such as the Course Description will vary between researchers.
We will need to see what you have done once an hour at the start of the work. This is because it's very easy for us to give the wrong instructions. So we would like to catch any problems early. So I will need to message you on the [url removed, login to view] chat every couple of hours to check your progress and to see an example of your work.
We are looking for someone to work immediately, to work today Thursday 3 March and tomorrow Friday 4 March. We are in London, United Kingdom on GMT time zone, and we work 06:00 in the morning to 23:00 at night.
