Hi, we would like to outsource the development of a digital sign management software.
We need the following functionality:
Media Server
Local Player (at the digital signage player level)
The ideal scenario is to have a content server manage the individual nodes (digital signage units) remotely, via ip. The server is to comission players, manage the playlist, software updates, proof of play, different templates, rss feeds,rs232, remotely turn on and off hardware, time stamp, screen capture and it has to be able to work on a direct connection environment and through a vpn environment.
The local player has to be able to manage the screen attached to the player, and perform the following task:
day parting
advanced scheduling and decommissioning of playlists
trigger capabilities (point of sale)
player clustering
rss feeds
different screens layouts
real time screen captures
Support different video formats
Some of the comercially available software are scala, broadsign,firmchannel, etc.
