Normally the 3D textures are bump maps, or texture maps (reference images) supplied by the customers. In this case, since these are custom patterns, I believe it would be better to have a graphic designer create the texture/bump maps for the handles, and then if the desired result is manufacturing, then those maps can be applied to the handle model create the 3D grips for mold making.
