Outlook Extension - Email Tracking

Proposal Outline The Email Tracking Outlook Extension (herein referred to as ‘the extension’) is intended be a supplemental software client supporting our existing email tracking web service (‘the web service’). The extension will be primarily targeted at salespeople in the Japanese market and will provide them with additional functionality to support their day-to-day sales and marketing activities. The web service is currently offered as a freemium service to Japanese and English speaking users. Free users can send up to 5 emails per day and paid users can send an unlimited amount. The web service’s REST API can be used to determine a user's current sending limit, authenticate a user and prepare an email message for tracking. The extension should integrate integrate with the existing web service API and utilise the Microsoft Office Ribbon UI to provide the user with the following functionality: - Ability to easily enable/disable email open notifications - Ability to easily enable/disable email click notifications - Insert a meeting proposal to the email body (provided by external service) - Provide a link to open the existing web service dashboard - Provide a visual indication of the user’s sending limitations - Automatically disable tracking when a sending quota is exhausted Objectives ● Integrate into existing web service REST API. ● Have a streamlined installation interface with minimal setup. ● Support for automatic updates. ● Support for Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10. ● Support for Outlook 2010, 2013 & 2016. ● Support for Japanese and English languages (more in the future). ● Written in C# (or VB) using extendable and testable code to allow for future features to be integrated.
