Build a Website

Developing a first-iteration network of websites for 10 inter-connected projects. 1. Primary website is a personal professional site. Establishes brand, identity, principles, skills, tools. Has blog, social media etc. Also, importantly, this site has a portfolio of projects. This site acts as the portal to those other projects. A key purpose of this site, at this stage, is to attract collaborators to these other projects. 2. Landing pages for the 10 inter-connected projects. (I have the domain names already.) A template, perhaps, which I can fill with content specific to the project. This is only a front/landing page for these projects. In the future, this will be upgraded. 3. Logos and graphics for each site/project. I have quite a few images already which I would like to use but I need logos and more graphics. Notes: a) This is a first iteration. I need to advertise these projects to attract funding, amongst other things. Some of that funding will be used for an even better front-end. I need a reasonable "face" to the projects. This face will improve and be developed as resources permit. b) The projects are largely informational and knowledge-based. (While my central, professional site and the landing pages will sell the projects, the projects themselves are promoting certain ideas.) c) I am looking to employ a lot of visual language techniques. That is: avoid drowning in long pages and paragraphs of text, but not infographics that are ambiguous, cheesy or difficult to interpret. Easy digestibility of information is critical. d) Logos need not be "related" in terms of styles or colour schemes. I am open to ideas and suggestions. Further details on the individual projects can be ascertained from me, as required. Please contact me. e) SEO not really required at this stage. I am not seeking Google rankings. These pages are to spread via word of mouth and social media, at this stage. f) I am somewhat web savvy. I can upload content, maintain sites (other than high-end security). I would like a platform where I can do this. Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, Plone...something I can pick-up quickly. g) I already have a Wordpress "X theme" license which I am not utilising. If you could use this, all the better. g) Needs to be readily upgradeable. Content migration ease is important. These sites will be overhauled one day, possibly to a different platform. The set up needs to allow easy migration. I would like to develop an on-going relationship with a reliable developer. This work could snowball which would mean much more work in the future if the early product is good. Please let me know what other information you require, and I can update this request with detail.
