FRRouting configuration plugin for PIM

We are a small company within the south of Germany and we are specialized within network technologies and access networks for our customers. Within our provided software we have integrated a wide variety of Linux packages under one standardized and eased grafical user interface. Therefore we have used for several routing behavior the Linux Quagga routing suite. As we have seen, that the FRR routing suite is more enhanced, we are trying to shift toward FRR. And for that we need additional help. Project Requirements The open source routing software package FRR ([login to view URL]) contains the PIM deamon that can be configured and monitored using the VTY shell ([login to view URL]). Currently, there is no method to change the live config in a modern object-orientated way or get information in one request that actually belong together. That's why we need a more powerfull API that is fully integrated in FRR (written in C) and that has to be implemented by you. Project Description We provide a proto file that already contains about 80 percent of all object information that FRR can be configured with and can be used to generate state answers to requests or to configure accordingly. This file should be extended and is therefore so far the base for your further development work. With the usage of your API, we can send Protobuf messages based on the proto file contents that will configure or partially reconfigure the PIM daemon of FRR. We can also request your API that answers with appropriate Protobuf messages to gain live configuration and status of the FRR suite. We are not seeking for a wrapping of the provided commands and use so the VTY of the FRR routing daemon. A Protobuf message can be either a status request or a request to modify the running configuration. The API should handle the necessary tasks directly. All available status fields, also the ones not available in the VTY, should be transferred as the reply of the status request.
