I have a cPanel WHM server (Centos 7.4) supporting multiple web sites and I need to create a NFS share to allow one of the web clients to access (Read/Write) data (from their php code) to a drive mounted on a remote Data Server (Ubuntu 17.10)
I have created the "mount" on the target data server and exported the share and also created an FSTAB entry in the source cPanel server and these SEEM to work OK (i.e. create the connection).
When I try to access the remote mounted drive from the cPanel server (through BOTH the terminal shell AND the cPanel File Manager) I just get "Permission Errors"
I need someone to:
- Verify my remote mount, export and source FSTAB definitions are correct?
- Tell me the correct definitions for the Remote / Source file permissions
- Tell me what user name / permissions to use (UID's / GID's etc)
DATA SERVER has
the following line in fstab:
/dev/vdb /mnt/data ext3 defaults 0 2
the following line in /etc/exports
/mnt/data/images/v4 [login to view URL](rw,sync,root_squash,no_subtree_check)
SOURCE CPANEL WHM SERVER has
the following line in the fstab file
[login to view URL]:/mnt/data/images/v4/ /home/comisaudit/public_html/auditimages/ nfs auto,nofail,noatime,nolock,intr,root_squash,tcp,actimeo=1800 0 0
The FOLDER appears in the correct location i.e. home/comisaudit/public_html/auditimages/ BUT no files or sub folders
I have root access to both platforms.
How do i fix this?

the permissions are to destination system. If you use this directory with uid 200, in the source you need put permission for this id. I can do this for you.
