Hi,
we are currently setting up to use Qbooks 2010 with our business. We do not create new accounts by manually entering in the data one by one via QBooks but rather import an Excel file which automatically converts to an .IIF format recognized by QBooks. When we initiate the import process to create new accounts from within QB, a template pops up in Excel and we simply copy and paste the data into the appropriate cells then click add data and QB does the rest. Accounts are successfully created. If I need to modify the contents of an account (general contact info) I simply use that same process & template making sure that the Company name is in the company name filed because it appears that QB searches for this field to make mods to an account. I tried using the contact name leaving the company name out to see what would happen and a new account was created. That said the IIF files searches for the company name then makes changes to the contents of that specific file.
My challenge:
I need to create an IIF file that can be used to import transaction data into my customers files from reports that we export to Excel from our credit card processing partner. This would include general transaction such as payments from customers, Credit card refunds to customers etc. Reference:[login to view URL]
I’m told from QB support that this would require special mapping using the available fields within QB since we do not receive the customers company name from our processing partner. Therefore we would have to map this to the contact name on file in order to update the transactions.
If you have experience in this field and are familiar with my requirements, kindly let me know ASAP. We have samples of data from our credit card processing partners as well will give full access to whatever may be required to assist you.

I am a good Data Entry Operoator. I am working in this field since 2006. My experience is 4 year. I am a professional DEO. I have been doing work in different companies as DEO.
I just completed an IIF job for another client and was able to map over 400 transactions from Excel. How many transactions do you have to import? I've worked with IIF files several times now, have experienced the difficulties you were having, and have solved them. I can give you a reference to my IIF mapping job (I did it as work on another website)
Im Currently working in a BPO company as programmer, i can do this, just simply provide me details for this project,i create programs like this every day on different projects we have......
I am a well experienced QuickBooks Accountant who participate in the Beta Testing of QuickBooks. I am also an IT specialist, and have a Masters degree in Engineering. I specialize in writing custom software for import/export of data between QuickBooks and other systems.
I live in Texas and I can send you samples of my previous work and the client list. Please let me know if you are interested.
Please note that importing data into QuickBooks using IIF have many flaws, and it is a backdoor mechanism that can corrupt your data. The suggested method to import data is to use the QuickBooks SDK which will force the QuickBooks to perform validating the data.
