Forum contribution Due: Week 2, Wednesday 6 November 2019 Format: 300-words Looking for someone with experience in Operations Management for a short quick writing task to lead into better/bigger pieces of writing. Purpose It is crucial that operations managers first define the operation performance objectives for the operations function in such a manner that they are well aligned with the market requirements of the business. This enables the stakeholders of the business to judge the impact of operations and process management on the business. The purpose of this activity is to provide you with the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the meaning and importance of different aspects of operations performance objectives in different businesses. In this activity, you are required to comment on operations performance objectives of an organisation (service or manufacturing) with which you are familiar, as seen below. Assessment brief Identify one key operations performance objective (i.e. Quality, Speed, Dependability, Flexibility, Cost) for the operations function of an organisation with which you are familiar. Post an individual contribution to the Collaborative Forum, explaining why the selected performance objective is important for the organisation and how it has (or has not) contributed to achieving the market requirements of the business. Hint: Use the concepts discussed on pages 54-59 of the textbook (Slack and Brandon-Jones, 2018, pp. 54-59) to present a logical and convincing argument.
