The Request: Background research for a report on residential high-rise waste services.
Hello,
I am looking for some background research into Municipal residential high-rise waste collection services in the Greater Toronto area (for the City of Toronto, City of Mississauga, City of Markham, and the City of Vaughan).
Here’s a list of specific items I am looking for (all of this information is publicly available, and can be found in the official budgets for each municipality):
- List of high-rise residential buildings serviced by municipal waste collection (some high-rise buildings contract private firms, others use municipal services. I want a list of those who use municipal services)
- Cost (per kilogram) that each municipality charges to dispose solid non-hazardous waste from residential high-rise buildings (condominiums, apartments, etc). Please do this for each separate stream of waste (blue bin recycling, green bin organics, residential solid non-hazardous waste)
- A breakdown of these charges (cost of landfill tipping fees, collection, transfer, transportation fees, etc for each stream -recycling/organics/waste).
*Please note: you must include direct references to where you got the official budget figures.
