PlacesActivity and ShowOnePlace are the 2 classes created using the "Android Activity" creation wizard, in one of my previous project; but Eclipse kept giving me the error: Call requires API level 11 (current min is 8): android.app.Activity#getActionBar; Call requires API level 11 (current min is 8): android.app.ActionBar#setDisplayHomeAsUpEnabled; I actually not getting any clue for this API call issue; So I just commented out those lines and the application seems to compile and run on my Android device without errors; Later I noticed that, need to Use getSupportActionBar() instead of getActionBar(). That will provide ActionBar features on API levels below 11. But in your case, I need to check actually what is the issue and the code base as well. To make the widget size static, irrespective of device screen resolution, basic logic is to set a default value of the height and width for the widgets. So that the actual height and width of the widgets can be visible in all devices may be with tablet or any android mobile devices as well. This is the generic logic. To give you exact prominent solution, I need to check the code part for your existing application. Regarding refresh issue on calling data- what you exactly looking for? Will you need to avoid refreshing of cells on calling datasetchanged or not? Using the PinterestLikeAdapterView library, I have worked to avoid refreshing of cells on when calling notifyDatasetchanged; Please ping me for further movement.
