We have a simple arithmetic C++ function (~30 lines of code) that runs on a Freescale [login to view URL] ARM development board ([login to view URL]). Your task would be to optimize the run time (5-10x speed up would be optimal) using the NEON unit, using the assembler code, of this development board. The function iterates over positions in an image; for each position, it sequentially compares the values of many pairs of pixels and calculates a result value. It should be possible to achieve a substantial speed-up by executing the pixel comparisons in parallel. We will provide remote access via TeamViewer to a Windows computer that the development board is connected to. Visual Studio runs on this computer; the code fragment is deposited on this computer as well. Constraints: 1. You must be fluent in English or German. 2. You must be familiar with programming on the NEON unit using assembler code. 3. Please deliver your results with time measurements, and a short description.

Hi, I have experience implementing parts of code in SSE/NEON vector instructions, Would like to have a look at your code. On my job I've used NEON on Cortex A9 under Windows CE 7 for some mostly image blending and color key transparency tasks, but also FFT, matrix transform,some signal processing and such, well ,the things vector instructions are good for :)
