GPS tracker with GSM/GPRS abilities Am a trying to get a research project which would need a small tracker as a part of the study. A GPS tracker with GSM/GPRS abilities very similar to the cheaply available car trackers in the market that allow to and for data channels either over SMS or data. It should collect and send data as per settings. If data/GSM is not available at prescribed interval it will store data and as soon as channels are available will send data from the point of the last transmission. The settings can be changed via GSM/GPDS. Should be well designed so that it does not waste excessive energy trying to search for a signal. Should be solar powered and have a small footprint and weight. Initially, proof of concept designs and demo pieces before the whole system is miniaturised and a small sealed component is built. Currently am looking at just building proof of concept pieces which can be tested.
