*** OVERVIEW ***
Very simple, quick task for a motivated and skilled Android Studio developer to be hired by an industrial equipment OEM. As an industrial heavy equipment OEM, we don't have software development resources internal. I estimate that this effort would take the suitable freelancer a few days of dedicated effort at most.
We are currently using the downloadable "nRF Connect" app to send and receive bytes from a custom hardware module. We would like to produce our own app that will convert the raw HEX data into displayable values on an application touch screen. Simple buttons are used to either send or receive small data packets (5 or 20 bytes) and update numeric boxes as appropriate.
*** SCOPE ***
- Start with a working Android Studio environment with the latest "bluetoothLeGatt" example that is provided with Android Studio
- Compile and run the example and correct all bugs/dependencies
- Add interface capability as described in the attached documents
*** UI REQUIREMENTS ***
- 1~2 screens/activities (more are acceptable if desired)
- Theme or aesthetics are *not* important (for use internal to our organization only, not for public consumption)
- A single drop down box listing BLE devices to allow the user to select one with a button to initiate connection/disconnection
- Several 'Parameter Container' objects (one for each piece of data) that displays most recently obtained numeric values in human readable format (converted from HEX data). Most parameters are 32-bit floating point data, 32-bit Unix Epoch date stamps, or Ascii text.
*** DELIVERABLES ***
- Android Studio project files (project folder zipped up and emailed)
- Compiled .apk file for installation onto a smartphone for testing
