I have a very simple MS Access 2000 DB but am new to the DB world and need some help.
1. To create a filter on an input form (The filter will allow the user to pick from a set of values in a table in the database). My form will have between 3-7 fields on it.
2. I need to put the DB on an internal server (windows server) and put a login form for access to the above form from a client windows machine. The client and server machines are on a single internal network. The DB can also simply be on a shared disk that is accessible by all the client machines. Concurrent multi-user access to the DB must be possible
3. The client machines may be assumed to have Access on them also. Solution must specify if such licensing is required.
4. I need a way to put an absolute hyperlink address (with params) in an MS word file (or internet browser) on the client machine that will open up a specific access form and (optionally) pre-populate some of the values. Any input on this form would be able to change the access DB on the server when it is submitted. There would be no access allowed to the rest of the database.
5. I will provide the actual simple Access DB to the succesful bidder for development and testing.
6. We want to open the Access form directly from the client machine as opposed to building a web front end to it that runs in a browser on the client machine.
This is to allow our DB developers to modify the forms using Access directly without the need to then modify a web front end as well before deploying to the user.
