NETWORK (LAN) INVENTORY TOOL

We are looking to develop a Network inventory tool intended to audit software and hardware components installed on the computers over our local network. The application must be capable to auto-detect the computer connected on our LAN. These computers must be displayed on the left side of the screen with a three-view style. Front end must be Windows XP Style (preferably). This tool have to collect the network inventory information and provide our Network Administrators with the detailed comprehensive reports. Must be compatible with: Windows 9X, ME, NT, 200X, XP environments. Programming language **MUST BE** Visual Basic 6 or Visual Basic .NET (preferably VB 6). Please don’t bid if you plain to develop in other languages. Summary: When a workstation on the threeview is double clicked, the following information must be displayed: * Computer serial number and manufacturer information * Operating system * Processor, memory and hard disk drives information * Installed software * WinSock information: TCP/IP addresses, host names, etc * Installed printers * Video subsystem * Installed devices * Network adapters, network shares * Local user accounts * Logged on user, operating environment * BIOS information * Motherboard information SOME IMPORTANT TIPS: An option to update a database with all the information stored on each workstation must be provided. Preferred database is Access. An option to avoid the copy of this application must be provided (basically, we don’t want our employees to copy and use this application in other LANs). A VNC option is a plus Client side must be installed as a service and cannot be uninstalled. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
